PPF or ceramic coating: which should you choose?

PPF protects automotive paint from stone chips, light scratches and road abrasion. Ceramic coating improves gloss, water repellency and resistance to chemicals, but it does not replace film against stone impacts.

Primary purposePhysical protection from chips and abrasionGloss, hydrophobicity and chemical/UV resistance
Typical areasBumper, hood, fenders, mirrors or full bodyPainted surfaces, compatible film and wheels
Best forNew cars and frequent highway useEasier care and appearance retention
LimitationHigher initial costDoes not stop significant stone chips

Choose PPF when the main risk is stone chips and scratches. Choose ceramic coating when gloss, easier washing and chemical resistance matter most. The two systems can be combined for broader protection.

Ceramic coating

Deep gloss, water repellency and resistance to chemicals and UV. Ceramic coating does not replace PPF against stone impacts.
